Keith A. Sandiford

Keith A. Sandiford (born 1947) is a historian from Barbados who has taught literature at Louisiana State University since 1986. He studied at Combermere School in Bridgetown, earned a BA from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, and earned an MA and PhD from the University of Illinois. His PhD looked at racial and political ideas in three Black writers of 18th-century England. He has taught at Combermere, the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill), and Coppin State University in Baltimore. At LSU, he teaches 18th-century British literature and Afro-American literature. His research focuses on 18th-century Caribbean society, especially the sugar industry and slavery.
