Kash Beauchamp
Kash Beauchamp, born January 8, 1963 in Grove, Oklahoma, is an American baseball coach and former minor league outfielder. He bats and throws right-handed and is the son of MLB player Jim Beauchamp. He attended Grove High School and Bacone College.
Beauchamp played 12 seasons in the minor leagues, reaching Triple-A but never making the major leagues. He was a speedy baserunner early in his career, stealing up to 25 bases in a season. In 1984, he was the Carolina League All-Star Game MVP, going 5-for-6 with a homer, two triples and five RBIs, and Baseball America named him Best Defensive Outfielder and Best Arm.
In 1993, after hitting .367 for the Rochester Aces in the independent leagues, he became the first player signed to a major league contract from an independent league, signing with the Cincinnati Reds. He finished his playing career in 1995 and then began coaching and managing in independent baseball.
From 1995 to 1997 he was a hitting coach in the Montreal Expos farm system. He then managed the New Jersey Jackals (1998–2000) and the Lincoln Saltdogs (2001), followed by three seasons with the Adirondack Lumberjacks (2002–2004). In 2005 he served as the Golden Baseball League’s scouting director and also worked as a hitting coach for the Samurai Bears; he had a role in the movie Season of the Samurai.
Beauchamp managed the Pensacola Pelicans in 2006 and then held baseball operations roles in the South Coast League in 2007, including managing the Anderson Joes for the final 37 games of the season. He became the Wichita Wingnuts’ manager later in 2007. On July 9, 2008, he had a famous tirade, taking off his shoe and trying to make an umpire smell it, and he received a four-game suspension.
After leaving the Wingnuts, Beauchamp worked as an independent league scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2017 through 2019. He was the hitting coach for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in 2018 and for the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2019–2020. He managed the Ogden Raptors through 2023 and was the Lincoln Saltdogs’ hitting coach in 2024. Prior to the 2025 season, he was named manager of the Boise Hawks.
Beauchamp also appeared on a 2001 episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos.
