Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award
Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award is an annual prize for Kannada literature given by the Karnataka Sahitya Academy. It honors individual Kannada books across many genres—poetry, novels, short stories, criticism, travel writing, translations, and children’s writing—and can also recognize a writer’s overall contribution to Kannada literature. The award started in 1983 and the last award was given in 2019. Notable winners include P. Lankesh, U. R. Ananthamurthy, K. P. Poornachandra Tejaswi, B. T. Lalitha Naik, Niranjana, Jayanta Kaikini, and K. Y. Narayanaswamy.
