Kampong Cham Municipality is an urban district (krong) in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. It includes Kampong Cham City, the provincial capital, which sits on National Highway 7 about 124 kilometers by road from Phnom Penh. The Mekong River runs through the district, and the city is on the river’s western bank. Since 2001, the Kizuna Bridge has improved regional connections.

The district is divided into 4 communes (khum) and 24 villages (phum). The district governor reports to the provincial governor, Hun Neng. Kampong Cham is the smallest district in the province by area and, with about 45,354 people in 8,236 households (1998 census), it's also the least populated district in Kampong Cham.

The average household size is 5.4 people, slightly below the urban Cambodia average, and the district has more women than men (sex ratio of 94.9%). The district is bordered by Kampong Siem District to the north and west, Tbong Khmum District to the east, and Koh Soutin District to the south.
