István Kocsis (6 October 1949 – 9 June 1994) was a Hungarian football defender. Born in Csorna, he was 1.82 m tall. He played for Pécsi Mecsek FC (1969–1975) and Budapest Honvéd (1975–1981) in Hungary, then moved to Belgium to join Lierse (1981–1983) where he made 66 appearances. He returned to Hungary to play for FC Sopron (1983–1984) and later finished his career with Ostbahn 11 in Austria (1988–1990). Kocsis earned 20 caps for the Hungary national team from 1977 to 1983 and scored no goals. He played in the 1978 World Cup, where Hungary were eliminated in the first round. His nicknames were Sandor and Pischta. He died of cancer at the age of 44.
