Sokyryntsi, Ternopil Oblast
Sokyryntsi (Ukrainian: Сокиринці; also known as Sokyrynci) is a small village on the Zbruch River in western Ukraine. It lies in Chortkiv Raion of Ternopil Oblast and is part of the Husiatyn settlement hromada. Local governance is through the Sokyrynetska village council.
The village covers about 1.27 square kilometers, sits at 217 meters above sea level, and has around 253 residents (a density of about 199 people per square kilometer).
Sokyryntsi is about 99 kilometers from the regional center Ternopil, 42 kilometers from the district center Chortkiv, and 23 kilometers from Husiatyn.
History and archaeology: Sokyryntsi was first mentioned in 1493. Nearby finds show Trypillian and Chernyakhov cultures.
