Juan Burgos
Juan Burgos is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on December 22, 1999, in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and bats and throws right-handed.
Burgos signed with the Seattle Mariners as an international free agent in 2019 and began his pro career in the Dominican Summer League. He did not play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He then moved through the minor leagues: in 2021 he played in the rookie-level ACL Mariners and the Modesto Nuts; in 2022 he again split time between the ACL and Modesto; in 2023 he spent time in Modesto; and in 2024 he played for the Everett AquaSox. In 2025, he started the year with the Arkansas Travelers (Double-A) and had a single appearance with the Tacoma Rainiers (Triple-A) before being added to Seattle’s 40-man roster.
On June 28, 2025, Burgos was promoted to the major leagues for the first time and made his MLB debut on July 1, 2025, with the Seattle Mariners. On July 31, 2025, he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks along with Tyler Locklear and Hunter Cranton for Eugenio Suárez. He earned his first major league win on August 19, 2025, against the Cleveland Guardians.
