Jordan Weems
Jordan Blake Weems (born November 7, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He comes from Columbus, Georgia, and bats left while throwing right.
Weems was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the third round of the 2011 MLB draft as a catcher. After several years in the minors, he switched to becoming a relief pitcher in 2016. He left the Red Sox organization after 2019 and signed with the Oakland Athletics.
He made his MLB debut on July 28, 2020, with Oakland. He played for the Athletics in 2020–2021, was claimed by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2021, and then joined the Washington Nationals in 2022, remaining with them through 2024. His strongest National League season was 2023 with Washington (51 games, 3.62 ERA). In 2024 with the Nationals he struggled (41 games, 6.70 ERA) and was designated for assignment in August.
In 2025 he spent time with the Braves organization before signing with the Houston Astros in June. He appeared briefly for Houston, was designated for assignment, and spent time in the minors before electing free agency at the end of the season. Over his MLB career, Weems is 6–5 with a 5.51 ERA and 161 strikeouts.
His father, Rick, was a minor league catcher, and Weems got engaged in 2024.
