Johnny Foley
Johnny Foley (Seán Ó Foghlú) was born in 1931 in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland. He was a Gaelic football goalkeeper who played for Kerins O'Rahilly's in Tralee and later for St Mary's in London. With Kerins O'Rahilly's, he won the Kerry Senior Football Championship in 1953 and 1954. At the county level, he played for Kerry. He started with Kerry’s minor team in 1947, winning two Munster Minor Football Championship medals but losing two All-Ireland minor finals. He then moved up to the junior team before joining the Kerry senior team in 1953. He played in goal when Kerry won the All-Ireland that year, defeating Armagh 0-13 to 1-06. Foley made two inter-county appearances in 1953 and also earned one Munster title and one All-Ireland title.
