Jizzakh State Pedagogical University
Jizzakh State Pedagogical University (JSPU) is a public university in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan and a major center for higher education and research. It is part of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education. The university opened on August 8, 1974, as Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute. The first rector was Bozorboy O‘rinboyev. In 1989 it was renamed after Abdulla Qodiriy. On June 21, 2022, it was granted university status and became JSPU. The current rector is Shavkat Safarovich Sharipov, a professor and doctor of pedagogical sciences. The university has about 542 academic staff and around 19,273 students and operates in Uzbek and Russian.
