Jimmy Fink
Jimmy Fink is a radio personality, writer and producer in the New York area. He was born in New York City and raised in Eastchester, New York, in a family that owned the Fink Baking Corp. He studied drama at the University of Arizona and earned a BA in Speech Arts/Communications from American University in 1971. While at American University, he helped start the school’s radio station WAMU-FM and worked at WHFS in Bethesda. He also studied electronic music at The New School from 1971 to 1972.
Fink began his radio career at WABC-FM (which later became WPLJ) and worked there from 1970 to 1983. In 1985, he became the first New York air personality at WXRK (K‑Rock). He has done voiceover work for HBO, Cinemax and other clients.
As a producer, Fink worked on ABC Rock Radio Network shows such as Rock & Roll Legends and New Waves. He created Rolling Stone Magazine’s Continuous History of Rock & Roll, which was broadcast on many stations, and he hosted Rock Watch, a nationally syndicated show.
In 2004 he became the afternoon drive host on 107.1 The Peak (WXPK-FM) in suburban New York. He continues to host the afternoon show and also runs 10@10, a daily program at 10 AM and 10 PM featuring ten great songs from one year, as well as the After 6 free‑form program.
Westchester Magazine readers named him Best Radio Personality in 2008, 2010 and 2024.
