Bill Davis (rugby union)

Bill Davis, full name William Leslie Davis, was born on 15 December 1942 in Hastings, New Zealand. He is a former rugby union and softball player. He is 1.80 m tall and weighed 74 kg during his playing days. He went to Hastings Boys' High School and later ran a sports shop.

Rugby career
- Position: Wing and centre
- Provincial: Hawke's Bay (1961–1971) with 108 appearances and 168 points
- International: New Zealand national team (the All Blacks) from 1963 to 1970
- Total All Blacks matches: 53 (including 11 internationals) and 9 points in tests

Softball career
- Outfielder for New Zealand’s national softball team, the Black Socks
- Competed at the world championships in 1972 and 1976

Later honors
- Patron of the Rotorua Softball Association (2001)
- Inducted into the Hawke’s Bay sports hall of fame (2006)
