At the 2018 European Athletics Championships, the men's 100 metres was held in Berlin's Olympic Stadium. The event took place on August 6 (round 1) and August 7 (semifinals and final). 48 athletes from 20 nations competed. The winning time was 9.95 seconds. The medals went to: gold – Zharnel Hughes (Great Britain), silver – Reece Prescod (Great Britain), and bronze – Jak Ali Harvey (Turkey). The defending champion was Churandy Martina of the Netherlands; the defending silver medalist was Jak Ali Harvey, and the defending bronze medalist was Jimmy Vicaut of France. The fastest entrants in the season got byes into the semifinals, while the rest raced in the first round. The semifinals and final were both on August 7.
