Jess Richardson (August 18, 1930 – June 17, 1975) was an American football defensive lineman. He played in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles (1953–1961) and in the AFL for the Boston Patriots (1962–1964). He played college football at Alabama and was drafted in the 8th round of the 1953 NFL Draft (93rd overall). Richardson earned a Pro Bowl selection in 1959 and helped the Eagles win the NFL Championship in 1960. He returned to coach the Eagles’ defensive line in 1972, but was let go after the season. He was the last lineman to play without a face mask. He died of kidney disease in Philadelphia in 1975 at age 44.
