Jeff Teague
Jeff Teague is an American former basketball player who is now the head coach at Pike High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on June 10, 1988, he grew up in Indianapolis and starred at Pike High School as a top point guard. He played college basketball at Wake Forest, where he became an All-American finalist in 2009 and led the team in scoring and assists.
Teague was selected 19th overall in the 2009 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He spent his first seven seasons in Atlanta, earning an NBA All-Star selection in 2015 and helping the Hawks reach the playoffs multiple times. In 2016, he was traded to the Indiana Pacers, and he later played for the Minnesota Timberwolves (2017–2020), briefly returned to the Hawks in 2020, and then had stints with the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks. He won his first NBA championship with the Bucks in 2021.
After retiring in 2021, Teague worked as a regional scout for the Hawks. In 2023, he returned to his hometown to become the head coach of Pike High School, the school he graduated from. Teague is the son of Shawn and Carol Teague and has a brother, Marquis Teague, who also played college basketball. He married Paola Gomez in 2023.
