Jean-Philippe Rolland (born 7 May 1964 in Toulon) is an admiral of the French Navy. He has served as Chief of the Military Staff of the President of the Republic since 1 August 2020 and has commanded the European Maritime Force since 19 September 2019.

Career highlights
- Entered the naval service in 1983, trained on the helicopter carrier Jeanne d’Arc.
- Commanded the training ship FS Panthère in 1988 and the frigate La Fayette; participated in operations in the Persian Gulf (1989) and carried out Mediterranean surveillance on Duguay-Trouin (1988).
- Involved in the Yugoslav crisis in 1994; served as Aviso Commandant Bouan.
- Attended the Joint Defense College in 1999; worked on the National Navy Staff as a program officer.
- Commanded La Fayette in 2005, supporting operations connected to Afghanistan; contributed to anti-aircraft and naval cruise-m missile reforms.
- Operations manager for the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in 2003; held planning and programming roles at the National Navy Staff (2007).
- Participated in missions in Afghanistan and off the Libyan coasts; involved in the 2008 and 2013 Military Planning Laws.
- Studied at the French Naval War College, the Nuclear Engineering School and the Center for Advanced Military Studies (2008); also attended the Institute for Higher National Defense Studies.
- Served in the Cabinet of the Chief of Staff of the French Navy; became Deputy Chief of Force Employment under the Defense Staff in 2013; promoted to rear admiral in May 2014.
- Head of the Capability Coherence Division on the Joint Staff; promoted to vice admiral and later commanded the Naval Action Force in 2017.
