Jean-Philippe Aviance is a French-American house and techno DJ and producer from Washington, D.C. He started his career in 1990, DJing for the voguing House of Aviance and its weekly Kindergarten Parties at the Vault Nightclub in D.C. He was the House of Aviance’s first DJ, and the House is part of the ball scene known for vogueing, fashion, music and performances.

In 1991 he released Go Bitch Go! – Work This Pussy, a track that has been covered by other DJs and is noted for its vogue-inspired energy. He released other influential tracks, including Ultraworld – Life After Death (1991) on Strictly Rhythm and Give Me Luv, a collaboration with Victor Imbres as the duo Alcatraz; Give Me Luv appeared on Yoshitoshi in 1995 and reached number 12 on the UK charts in 1996. The Alcatraz duo later split. Other releases include Sexy Thing (1996), Useless (1999), and Black On Black (2001). Aviance has used many spellings of his name and has performed under various aliases.

He is married and lives in Delaware, and as of 2014 he was semi-retired from DJing.
