Janwar Aur Insaan
Jaanwar Aur Insaan (Animal and Man) is a 1972 Hindi film directed by Tapi Chanakya. It stars Shashi Kapoor, Raakhee, Sujit Kumar, Jagdeep, Nirupa Roy, and Madan Puri. The music is by Kalyanji–Anandji. It was produced by Dhandayuthapani Films and runs for 154 minutes.
Plot
Shekhar is a rich man living with his widowed mother Gauri in Jamuna Nagar, India. A tiger in the area has been wounded by him and has become a fearless man-eater. Shekhar tries to trap and kill the tiger, but fails. He falls in love with Meena, and they imagine a life together, but Meena’s father Gokuldas had killed Shekhar’s father, which blocks their marriage. Later, Mohan kills Gokuldas, making the path clear for the couple to marry. Their wedding is interrupted when the tiger appears, but it runs away when Shekhar fires at it.
About a year later, Meena gives birth to a son, Raju, while the tiger remains at large. The tiger finally attacks Shekhar’s estate, and he decides not to leave until he kills it. He sets a bait, but no one volunteers. Desperate, he decides to use his son Raju as live bait to lure the man-eater. The story follows what happens next as the tiger continues to threaten the estate.
