Tyrone is a small, unincorporated community in Monroe County, Iowa, United States. It lies about 8 miles west-southwest of Albia and sits at about 850 feet above sea level. The town is in the Central Time Zone (UTC-6, UTC-5 in summer) and uses area code 641. In the early 1900s, Tyrone had only a few dozen residents: 54 in 1902, 52 in 1925, and 35 in 1940.
