James T. Jennings

James T. Jennings (April 1818 – March 22, 1865) was a Union Army soldier in the American Civil War who received the Medal of Honor. Born in Devonshire, England, he joined the U.S. Army in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and served as a Private in Company K, 56th Pennsylvania Infantry. On August 20, 1864, at Weldon Railroad in Virginia during the Battle of Globe Tavern, he captured the flag of the 55th North Carolina Infantry, earning the Medal of Honor (awarded December 1, 1864). Jennings died in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 22, 1865, at about age 46, and is buried in Loudon Park National Cemetery in Baltimore.
