Goodbye Girl (David Gates album)
Goodbye Girl is a studio album by American musician David Gates, released in June 1978. It features pop rock and soft rock music and runs 48 minutes and 42 seconds. The album was released by Elektra and later reissued by Wounded Bird, with Gates also serving as producer.
The title track, Goodbye Girl, was used in the film of the same name.
The album peaked at No. 165 on the Billboard 200.
Two singles from the album were released: "Goodbye Girl" in December 1977 and "Took the Last Train" in August 1978. "Took the Last Train" reached the top 40 in both the United States and Canada.
Content: Only tracks 1–4, 6 and 7 are new material; the rest are reissued from Gates's previous albums.
All tracks were written by David Gates, except "Took the Last Train," which was co-written with Larry Knechtel.
