James A. Wolfe (born December 20, 1960) is a former Security Director of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI). He held the job from 1987 to 2017, nearly 30 years. Before that, he worked as an Army Intelligence Analyst from 1983 to 1987.

In 2018, Wolfe pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI in connection with leaks. He was sentenced to two months in federal prison and fined $7,500. After prison, he served four months of supervised release and completed 20 hours of community service each month. He was released in 2019.

As SSCI Security Director, Wolfe oversaw the receipt and management of classified information from the executive branch and was considered a congressional staffer.

In his personal life, Wolfe married Leslie Adair Wolfe in 1984. In 2004 she accused him of assault, a claim his lawyers denied. He later married Jane Rhodes Wolfe in 2013. In court in 2018, he said he had an extramarital relationship with reporter Ali Watkins of The New York Times from 2013 to 2017.
