Jake Arnott
Jake Arnott, born 11 March 1961 in Buckinghamshire, England, is a British writer and dramatist. He wrote The Long Firm (1999) and six other novels. He left Aylesbury Grammar School at 17 and did many jobs, including labourer, mortuary technician, artist’s model, and theatre worker. He also acted with the Red Ladder Theatre Company in Leeds and appeared as a mummy in the 1999 film The Mummy. Arnott has lived in squats in south London, such as Bonnington Square. He came out as bisexual in his twenties. In 2005 he was named one of Britain’s 100 most influential LGBT people. His novels often explore secret histories and hidden events beneath the surface of society.
