Samuel Mansfield
Samuel Mansfield CSI (1815 – 12 December 1893) was a British civil servant in India. He joined the Bombay Civil Service in 1834 and worked there until 1872. He studied at Haileybury. His brother was General William Mansfield, 1st Baron Sandhurst, who led the army in India from 1865 to 1870.
Mansfield served as Commissioner in Sind from 1862 to March 1867. While he was in office, a separate Judicial Commissioner was created for Sind, which took over that duty from him. He then became a member of the senior council of Bombay from 1867 to 1872.
In 1866, he was made a Companion of the Order of the Star of India (CSI).
