Institute of International Relations (ISRI) in Maputo, Mozambique, is a higher education institution founded in 1986. It focuses on international relations, diplomacy, politics and development.

In 1991, ISRI created the Center for International Strategic Studies (CEEI) to conduct research. To grow, the institute added a degree in public administration in 2001, and in 2009 began master’s programs in international relations and development (with specializations in external politics and in international trade or finance) and a master’s in public administration and development (with specializations in territorial administration or public financial management).

ISRI currently has about 1,916 students and 65 teachers, with roughly one-third holding PhDs. Its statutes, established by Decree No. 12/97 on June 3, allow ISRI to grant honorary titles such as professor emeritus and Doctor Honoris Causas to distinguished professors, scientists, or those who have provided notable service to humanity in science, literature, arts, culture or international affairs.

On April 29, 2016, ISCSP-ULisboa signed a cooperation protocol with ISRI at ISRI’s Maputo facilities to promote academic, scientific, technical, pedagogical and cultural collaboration. The agreement was signed by Manuel Meirinho, president of ISCSP-ULisboa, and José Magode, ISRI Vice-Rector.
