DGLAP evolution equations
The DGLAP evolution equations in quantum chromodynamics describe how parton distribution functions (PDFs) change with energy when probing protons. They explain the scaling violations seen in deep inelastic scattering, which support QCD. Named after Dokshitzer, Gribov, Lipatov, Altarelli, and Parisi, they were published in the late 1970s (Altarelli–Parisi in 1977; earlier versions by Gribov–Lipatov in 1972 and by Dokshitzer in 1977). Today, DGLAP is used to determine PDFs in global analyses by groups like CTEQ and NNPDF.
