The 2017 Kansas Jayhawks football team represented the University of Kansas in the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS season. It was the Jayhawks’ 128th season. They played in the Big 12 Conference and home games at Memorial Stadium.

Led by third-year head coach David Beaty, the staff also included offensive coordinator Doug Meacham (his first season) and co-defensive coordinators Clint Bowen and Kenny Perry.

They finished with a record of 1–11 overall and 0–9 in the Big 12. Beaty had received a contract extension after the 2016 season, keeping him at KU through 2021. The Jayhawks entered 2017 with a long road losing streak, 41 straight games dating back to 2009 (which reached 46 during the season). They had also lost 39 of their last 41 games against FBS opponents, including 12 in a row. After winning their season opener against Southeast Missouri State, they lost the next 11 games.

Dorance Armstrong, a defensive end who had been a 2nd-team All-Big 12 selection, returned and was named the preseason Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year for 2017.

Note: The roster referenced here is a 2016-based roster with seniors removed; it was to be updated in spring practice and again for training camp.
