Indestructible Man is a 1956 American crime horror science‑fiction film directed by Jack Pollexfen. It stars Lon Chaney Jr. as Charles "Butcher" Benton, a convicted robber who is executed in the gas chamber. Benton's body is secretly used by a scientist who hopes to study cancer by reviving damaged tissue. He is brought back to life with chemicals and a massive jolt of electricity, becomes incredibly strong, and is nearly indestructible, though he is mute from damage to his vocal cords.

Benton goes on a rampage to avenge himself against the two henchmen who betrayed him and their attorney, Paul Lowe, who helped steal his loot. A police detective named Dick Chasen and Benton's former girlfriend Eva Martin get caught up in the case as Los Angeles experiences a string of mysterious killings. Benton had hidden his money in the city’s sewers.

In the climactic ending, Benton is wounded by a bazooka and scorched by a flamethrower. He flees to a power plant, where a gantry moves toward a main transformer. A spark and a transformer explosion burn Benton to ashes. A few days later, Chasen proposes to Eva.

Cast highlights: Lon Chaney Jr. as Benton; Max Showalter as Detective Dick Chasen; Marian Carr as Eva Martin; Robert Shayne as the scientist. The film was produced by C.G.K. Productions and distributed in the United States by Allied Artists, released on March 25, 1956, with a running time of 72 minutes.

Indestructible Man was often shown on a double bill with World Without End. Trivia includes a miscredit where Marvin Press was listed as Marvin Ellis, and there is a 2015 book about the film, Scripts from the Crypt: Indestructible Man. An MST3K version of the film was released in 2019.
