Imran Siddiqi (born 7 September 1957) is an Indian geneticist and group leader at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad, where he heads a plant genetics research group. He earned an MSc in chemistry from IIT Bombay in 1981 and, under Prof. Franklin Stahl, studied genetic recombination in bacteriophage for his PhD, which he received from the University of Oregon in 1989. After a postdoctoral stint at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, he joined CCMB in 1992.

His work focuses on genetics, plant development, meiosis, gametogenesis, and apomixis (asexual reproduction) in plants, with the aim of enabling the production of exact genetic clones of hybrid plants through breeding. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including Journal of Biosciences, Journal of Genetics, BMC Plant Biology, and Journal of Integrative Plant Biology. Siddiqi was elected a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences in 2008, won the Infosys Prize in Life Sciences in 2011 for his contributions to agriculture, and was elected a fellow of the Indian National Science Academy in 2011.
