John Charters Boyle

John Charters Boyle (August 5, 1869 – May 10, 1950) was a Northern Irish surveyor and unionist politician. He studied at Cheltenham College and the Royal Indian Engineering College, then worked as a surveyor. During the First World War, he served in the Royal Engineers with the 150th Field Company and was mentioned in despatches. He remained in the military into the early 1920s, attaining the rank of Major.

In public life, Boyle was High Sheriff of Armagh in 1926. He was elected to the Senate of Northern Ireland in 1937 as an Ulster Unionist and served as a senator until his death in 1950. He was born at Charlemont Place, Armagh, and died at Desart, Armagh. He had married Dorothea Gertrude Armstrong in 1914 (she lived until 1960).
