Ignacio Balbontín

Ignacio Balbontín Arteaga (18 June 1940 – 18 September 2015) was a Chilean sociologist and politician. He served as a deputy in the Chamber of Deputies from 1994 to 1998, representing the 18th District. He was a member of the Christian Democratic Party. Balbontín was born in Talca, Chile, and studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (B.S.) and the Catholic University of Leuven (M.S.). He was married to María Sofía Lecaros.
