Huldenberg
Huldenberg is a municipality in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. It includes the towns of Huldenberg, Loonbeek, Neerijse, Ottenburg, and Sint-Agatha-Rode. As of 2018, about 9,900 people live there, in an area of around 40 square kilometers.
Huldenberg is the seat of a Belgian branch of the Limburg-Stirum noble family. The town has a local football club, VK Huldenberg, created from a fusion of FC Huldenberg and VK Rode. Each Tuesday, a market runs from 8:00 to 13:00 at the Gemeenteplein near the town hall.
After World War II, Mary Churchill, daughter of Winston Churchill, stayed in Huldenberg with a British anti-aircraft unit for three months. She found the locals friendly and noted both a relaxed attitude toward some rules and ongoing wartime-style black market activity.
