Hope A. Weiler is a Canadian nutritionist and associate professor at McGill University, in the School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition. She earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph and a PhD in Medical Sciences, Cell Biology and Metabolism, from McMaster University. In 2018 she was named a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Nutrition and Health Across the Lifespan at McGill. Her research focuses on preventing osteoporosis and also includes work on childhood obesity. A 2012 study suggested that activities to build a child’s muscle mass may be more important than diets aimed at weight loss. She has also studied whether Vitamin D supplements can help muscle growth in infants and toddlers.
