High There is a 2014 dark nonfiction comedy about a real, down-and-out tabloid journalist who goes to Hawaii to film a marijuana travel show. He soon falls into a world of drugs, sex, and paranoia as he uncovers a secret government effort to control the marijuana trade, including the case of Roger Christie and his THC Ministry. The film was released on DVD and on-demand on June 23, 2015 by BrinkVision. It opened the first Cannabis Film Festival in Garberville, Humboldt County in May 2015 and won the festival’s Viewers’ Choice Award.

Directed by Wayne Darwen, who also stars as Dave High, and filmed by Henry Goren, who plays Roland Jointz. Darwen wrote the script and both he and Goren produced the film, along with Burt Kearns. It was presented by Sam Peters International Productions Unlimited and Good Story Productions (a Rat Lung picture). High There was an official selection of the 2014 Action on Film International Film Festival, with its premiere on August 25, 2014 in Monrovia, California. The film received positive reviews from outlets around the world, including The Australian, LA Weekly, the Anchorage Press, and The Huffington Post.
