Henefer, Utah
Henefer is a small town in Summit County, Utah, about 41 miles northeast of Salt Lake City and part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. It sits at about 5,341 feet in elevation and covers roughly 0.9 square miles of land. The population was 838 at the 2020 census. Henefer was founded in 1859 and named after early residents James and William Hennefer; it became an incorporated town in 1938. A large hillside letter H can be seen on a hill to the southwest. The area has hot summers and cold winters, with a humid continental climate. The town is in the North Summit School District and uses ZIP code 84033 and area code 435.
