Harry Lane (footballer, born 1894)
Harry William Lane (born 23 October 1894) was an English footballer who played mainly as an inside right. He was born in Stoney Stanton, England, and stood about 5 ft 11+1/2 in tall.
He spent his early years with Stoney Stanton Swifts, Hinckley United, Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Sutton Town. In the Football League he appeared for West Ham United (19 games), Charlton Athletic (3 games) and Queens Park Rangers (5 games), scoring no goals.
During the First World War, Lane served as a despatch rider and later became a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps. After the war he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law.
