Harold Bray
Harold Cecil Bray (5 July 1920 – 27 June 1999) was an Australian rules footballer who played for St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He started at Prahran in the VFA and joined St Kilda in 1941. Over ten seasons, the fast centreman played 156 games and kicked 15 goals.
Bray was known for his pace and skill. He won St Kilda’s best and fairest in 1945 and 1947 and represented the VFL in interstate football. In the Brownlow Medal, he was a strong contender, finishing second in 1952 after also placing second in 1947 and third in 1949.
During World War II, Bray served as a private in the Australian Army. He was born in Melbourne and died in 1999 at age 78. He stood 178 cm tall and weighed 76 kg.
