Hapoel Beit Shemesh Football Club was an Israeli soccer team from Beit Shemesh. It was founded in 1958 and dissolved in 1994 because of financial problems. At its peak, the club played in the Israeli league’s second tier. A successor club, Ironi Beit Shemesh F.C., currently competes in Liga Bet.
History
- 1958: The club was founded and began in Liga Gimel (the fourth level). It briefly disbanded in 1960 but was soon re-established and returned to Liga Gimel.
- 1964–65: Promoted to Liga Bet after finishing second in the promotion play-offs.
- 1969–70: Finished third in the South B division of Liga Bet but was promoted because the first and second placed teams were disqualified.
- 1976–77: Won the South division of Liga Alef and was promoted to Liga Artzit (the second level). Relegated after the next season.
- 1978–79: Promoted again to Liga Artzit after topping Liga Alef.
- 1983–84: Relegated from Liga Artzit to Liga Alef, and later dropped to Liga Bet in subsequent years.
- 1985–86: Returned to Liga Artzit but were relegated after one season, then declined through the lower divisions until folding in 1994.
