Cabildo is a city and commune in Petorca Province, Valparaíso Region, Chile. It covers about 1,455 square kilometers and sits around 176 meters above sea level. In 2012, about 19,315 people lived there, with roughly 12,453 in urban areas and 6,463 in rural areas, giving a population density of about 13 people per square kilometer.

The area uses Chile Standard Time (UTC-4) and, in summer, Chile Summer Time (UTC-3). The local area code is +56 33.

Cabildo is governed by a municipal council and an alcalde (mayor) elected every four years. The data lists Víctor Donoso (DC) as mayor. For national elections, Cabildo is part of Chile’s 10th electoral district for deputies and the 5th senatorial constituency for senators.
