Hanging Garden (2005 film)
Hanging Garden (Kūchū Teien) is a 2005 Japanese family drama directed by Toshiaki Toyoda. The screenplay is by Toyoda, based on the novel by Mitsuyo Kakuta. The film stars Anne Suzuki, Kyōko Koizumi, Masahiro Hirota, and Itsuji Itao, with music by Kazuhide Yamaji. It was distributed by Asmik Ace Entertainment. Release dates were May 12, 2005 at the Cannes Film Festival and October 8, 2005 in Japan. Running time is 114 minutes and the language is Japanese. The story centers on the Kyobashi family, who live by a rule: when asked a question directly, they must answer truthfully and not keep secrets.
