Haltwhistle War Memorial Hospital
Haltwhistle War Memorial Hospital is a small community hospital in Greencroft Park, Haltwhistle, Northumberland, England. It is run by Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. In front of the hospital stands a war memorial cross, which is a Grade II listed structure.
The site began as Greencroft House in the 18th century. It was rebuilt in the early 19th century and later turned into a hospital in August 1922 as a lasting memorial to soldiers who died in World War I.
A maternity wing was added in 1939. The hospital joined the National Health Service in 1948. In 2014 the hospital was rebuilt to modern standards in a project costing about £5.5 million.
The hospital does not have an Accident and Emergency department; it provides other local health services as a community hospital.
