Guye Adola is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specializes in the half marathon and the marathon. He was born on October 20, 1990, in Adola, in Ethiopia’s Oromia region, and trained with Gianni Demadonna’s group.

In 2014 he rose to prominence. He won the Marrakech Half Marathon in 61:26, finished fourth at the Ethiopian Half Marathon Championships, and made a strong international debut at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Copenhagen, where he earned the bronze medal with 59:21 and helped Ethiopia finish third in the team standings. He also placed third at the Giro Media Blenio in Switzerland and at the Luanda Half Marathon in Angola, and won the Delhi Half Marathon with a personal best of 59:06.

Adola’s marathon debut came in 2017 at the Berlin Marathon, where he finished second to Eliud Kipchoge in 2:03:46, at the time the fastest marathon debut ever. He competed in the 2020 World Athletics Half Marathon Championships in Gdynia and went on to win the Berlin Marathon in 2021.
