Greater Wilfred's mouse, Wilfredomys oenax, is a small rodent from South America. It lives in subtropical lowland forests of southern Brazil and Uruguay and spends some time in trees, showing partial arboreal habits. It is the only species in its genus, Wilfredomys. The mouse relies on dense vegetation, and its habitat is being lost due to farming, wood and pulp plantations, cattle ranching, logging, and wood harvesting. Its population is highly fragmented across its range, and it is listed as Endangered.
