Great Bend Township is a township in Barton County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,752. It was organized in 1872. The township covers 40.46 square miles (104.8 km2), with 40.26 square miles of land and 0.20 square miles of water. Elevation is 1,847 feet (563 meters). The ZIP code is 67530 and the area code is 620. Great Bend Township includes one incorporated city, the city of Great Bend, which is the county seat. Two cemeteries are located there: Golden Belt Memorial Park and Great Bend Cemetery. Dry Walnut Creek runs through the township. There are two airports: Button Airport and Great Bend Municipal Airport.
