Good For Evil
Good for Evil
An 1876 Australian play by F. R. C. Hopkins. It was inspired by a novel by Ouida. The play premiered in Dunedin in 1876. It had earlier been published as Clay and Porcelain: A Drama of the Present Day (Melbourne, 1875). Alfred Dampier produced a London version in 1881. Hopkins dedicated the work to Dampier, saying the role of John Gladstone Smith could show the villainous, Iago-like, scheming traits that exist in many forms in society.
