Color science

Color science studies everything about color and light. It covers how light is measured, how our eyes and brains see color, and how to reproduce color accurately in devices like screens and printers. It is the modern extension of traditional color theory, bringing together physics, psychology, and practical applications.

A leading journal in the field is Color Research and Application, started in 1975 by Fred Billmeyer and colleagues. Color science papers are also published in many other journals across optics, imaging, and vision.
