Golden Gate (video game)
Golden Gate is a 1997 adventure game developed by iX Entertainment and published by Panasonic Interactive Media. It released for MacOS and Windows, with a planned 3DO Interactive Multiplayer version that was never released. In the game, you explore San Francisco to search for hidden treasure. It uses a classic point-and-click interface with inventory-based puzzles and dialogue sequences to move the story forward.
The reception was mixed. Some praised the artwork, plot, and musical score, while others criticized the gameplay as slow, old-fashioned, or tiresome. A few notes highlighted its film-like visual style and its memorable music, but several reviews found the overall experience uneven or forgettable.
