God on My Side
God on My Side is a 2006 Australian documentary directed and produced by Andrew Denton, an Australian agnostic. The film follows Denton as he visits the 2006 National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Texas, where about 6,000 Christian communicators gathered. It runs 85 minutes and premiered at the Sydney Film Festival on 15 June 2006, before being released in Australian cinemas on 2 November 2006. It was shown on ABC on 21 May 2007. In the documentary, Denton interviews attendees about topics such as abortion, homosexuality, the environment, religious television media and movies, the influence of religion on politics, the idea of the rapture, the separation of church and state, and beliefs about God. The opinions expressed are largely from fundamentalist Christians.
