Glycoside hydrolase family 101
Glycoside hydrolase family 101 (GH101) is a group of enzymes that break glycosidic bonds—the links between sugar molecules or between sugars and other substances. Members of GH101 include endo-α-N-acetylgalactosaminidases (EC 3.2.1.97), which cut specific N-acetylgalactosamine-containing parts of sugars.
Glycoside hydrolases are classified into more than 100 families based on how their amino acid sequences are related. This classification is maintained by the CAZy database and described in CAZypedia. GH101 enzymes can be divided into several subfamilies.
