Glucan endo-1,3-α-glucosidase
Glucan endo-1,3-α-glucosidase is an enzyme (EC 3.2.1.59) that cuts internal 1→3 α-glycosidic bonds in certain glucans. It is also known as endo-1,3-α-glucanase or mutanase. The enzyme acts on polysaccharides such as isolichenan, pseudonigeran, and nigeran, breaking the 1→3 α-linkages. When it acts on pseudonigeran, the products are nigerose and glucose. Its systematic name is 3-α-D-glucan 3-glucanohydrolase.
